Oblò is a compact, lightweight, easy-to-install instrument that fits into a standard 3"1/8" (80 mm) cut-out.
With its round display, it features :
- Digital attitude indicator
- Altimeter with QNH
- Air speed indicator
- Gyro compass with magnetic heading and GPS tracking
- Vertical speed indicator
- Rotational speed indicator
- Gmeter
- HSI and gyrodirectional
- Measurement and units are configurable.
Unlike other products of similar size, the Oblò does not display the speed and altitude taken by a GPS system, but calculates them itself.
The GPS signal can be received from the optional Flybox antenna (62078-08) or one of the Gps devices with NMEA output available on the market.
Speed and altitude indications, based on pressure sensors, are not subject to the delays and errors typical of GPS indications.
Oblò displays the aircraft's true attitude thanks to the integrated AHRS inertial platform, equipped with micro-machined solid-state sensors (gyroscopes, accelerometers and magnetometers) and an adaptive algorithm.
Using a state-of-the-art custom TFT LCD display, screen visibility is at its best, even in direct sunlight, with adjustable brightness.
Calibration carried out for each instrument guarantees a maximum error of 0.5 millibar (4.6 meters) for the altimeter over a temperature range of -20 ~ +70°C and an altitude range of -1000 ~ +25,000 feet, and a maximum error of 3 km/h for the airspeed indicator at low speeds (below 30 km/h), which decreases as speed increases.
